One of the practical spiritual principles that I know off that used by millionaires which I like and practice is the Attitude Of Gratitude. This is one principle that I used it almost everyday. I try not to skip the practice as I find it very enriching and fulfilling. In our lives, no matter what circumstances we are in, I believe that there is always something that we can be grateful. Isn’t it? The principle emphasis that, the more grateful we are, more good things will come by our ways, and we will be even more grateful. This is a cycle. Therefore, it is important that we maintain an attitude of gratitude. When I started practicing this principle, I thought that I have nothing to be grateful for. I thought that, I will only be grateful when I received something really big. But to my surprise, I was totally wrong. Never did I realize that when I started to pen down my first statement of gratitude, more gratitude thoughts came to my mind. If you care to think of the things you do from morning to night, there will always be something you can be grateful for. How about nice little gestures shown to you by your colleagues or friends? You can be grateful for that as well.It is very simple to practice this edifying principle. You can either get a note book or maintain a folder in your computer. You can name it as “Evident journal” or “Gratitude Journal”. It is just like a diary, but you only record the things that you are grateful for and NOTHING else. You can record it when you come across an incident that you are grateful on the spot or you can record it at the end of the day. There are no rules on the way you record the grateful events but importantly, you must record it.You may say that on a bad and lousy day, there is practically nothing to be grateful for. Your bosses gave you a black face, your client rejects your sales or proposal, your car broke down, and anything you can think off under the sun that is no good. Surely you can come out with something to be grateful for. The list may be shorter, I may agree. How about these suggestions.I am grateful for the food that I eat today.I am grateful that I am able to come home and rest at last.I am grateful that I can come home safe and sound.I am grateful that I can have a hot bath.I am grateful that the sun is shining today.Etc.Amidst of your bad day, you will have something to be grateful for as those suggested above. The list can go on. What you need to do is to pen down a few of them. This is to continue to maintain an attitude of gratitude every day irregardless of the situation. You know, grateful beget grateful. When you start to be more grateful and less grumpy, good things or events will come by your way. What more do we want before we are grateful? Do you want to be grateful only when you get what you want? Pause for a moment in your lives, there are many things that you can be grateful for. If you happen to read this article, you can be grateful that you can read English. You can be grateful that you have a computer and internet (assuming you read from the net). There are many things you can be grateful for, the singing of the birds, the ray of the sun, the rainbow across the sky and many more. Be grateful for the things in your life be it small or big. You will feel better, less bitter and more good things will come by your way. Believe it or not, practicing this little principle will enrich your lives.
